Summer’s Energy

My lungs seem so large in my chest

The summer air has inflated them

For the first time in months

I can breathe normally

Sprint a thousand miles, never gasp for breath

The landscape peeling past

A thousand different views; all

Golden, shining, glorious

Liquid energy coursing through my veins

I’ve never felt so alive
